Winter Storm Warnings: Northeast and Seven States Brace for Heavy Snow and Wind

Winter storm warnings are in effect in seven states, as heavy snow and wind continues to lash the Northeast. The National Weather Service’s latest forecast says temperatures will be below average across much of the East Coast on Monday. But the forecast says the heavy rain and snow hitting parts of the Northeast will mostly come to an end later in the day. “Things will quiet down considerably once the dynamic low pressure system” producing snow and thunderstorms moves into the Atlantic later on Monday, the forecast said. In the meantime, showers and thunderstorms are expected across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast and moderate to heavy snow is likely over parts of northern New England and the interior Northeast.
